Radiology Technologist

Shift Information: Night Shift Sunday-Thursday (no weekends)

Position Summary

The Radiology Technologist will prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and respond to patient questions. This role involves performing diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a specialized training program in Radiological Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Experience:

• One year of experience preferred performing radiological procedures in a hospital, clinic, or physician’s office.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Familiarity with radiologic equipment and procedures, including knowledge of safety hazards in radiology.
• Effective communication skills; ability to articulate and explain procedures clearly to patients.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment problems and perform simple adjustments.

License/Certification/Registration:

• Registered with the ARRT in Radiology.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) compliant with the American Heart Association standards, renewing every two years.

Essential Functions

• Perform patient care and technical duties in an accurate and timely manner.
• Greet each patient warmly and review requests to evaluate orders for appropriate exams.
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers: Name and Date of Birth.
• Explain procedures in an understandable manner to patients.
• Prepare and position patients for examinations, ensuring proper technique is used.
• Take appropriate views for examinations and operate imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist the Radiologist and/or other technicians during fluoroscopic and special procedure examinations.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, ensuring compliance with safety practices.
• Document patient symptoms, history, imaging limitations, and other relevant data in the appropriate systems.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and any individuals encountered in the role.
