Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Tele

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care. This role will involve the potential to float to various units, including units J1-2, J33, and the Emergency Department, to care for similar patient populations. There may also be a requirement to manage patients on ventilators.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical telemetry environment.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes to the appropriate medical staff.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Educate patients and their families on health management and medication use.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
• Float to designated units as needed, maintaining flexibility to meet operational needs.

Shifts

This position requires rotating shifts of either night (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) or day (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM) schedules. Shifts may be variable as necessary to meet the operational needs of the facility.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 months of permanent experience in the Med/Surg Tele specialty.
• A valid Ohio nursing license or a compact state license is required.
• Current certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) are mandatory.
• Willingness to work at least every other holiday.

Additional Information

During orientation, candidates must complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and a SafeMedicate assessment, achieving acceptable scores on both. This position requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
