Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/Tele

Job Details

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with diverse medical diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in accordance with established protocols and patient care standards.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, including managing dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and blood products, as well as manage IV and central line care.
• Provide pre/post hemodialysis management and follow insulin protocols.
• Conduct wound care and manage patients with feeding tubes, colostomies, and tracheostomies.
• Utilize rapid response team protocols effectively as needed.
• Maintain communication with interdisciplinary teams using SBAR documentation methods.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a focus on Medical/Surgical and Telemetry.
• Accepts first-time travelers; local candidates are also welcome.
• Required certifications: BCLS.
• Ability to float to other units and work weekends (12-16 hours per contract).
• Pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.

Special Procedures / Unit Details

This unit includes an isolation area for COVID-19 patients and provides multi-level care, including stepdown services managed by specialized staff.

Scheduling Details

• Target nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6.
• Shifts are 12 hours for nights with 36 or 48-hour weekly schedules available.
• All contracted staff may be required to participate in Storm or Hurricane teams during catastrophic events or mass casualties.
• Orientation includes 24 hours on the unit, with hospital orientation during the first week.

Scrubs

Navy and white scrubs are required for this position.
