Acute Care Physical Therapist

Position Overview

The Acute Care Physical Therapist is responsible for providing rehabilitation services to patients within an inpatient and outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess experience in an acute care environment and demonstrate the ability to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to individuals recovering from illness, injury, or surgery.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ movement and physical conditions to develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic interventions to improve patient mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment procedures and rehabilitation techniques.
• Document patient treatments and outcomes accurately using the Epic electronic medical record system.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Virginia; temporary licenses are acceptable with a valid license from another state.
• Previous experience in acute care settings is required.
• Proficient in using electronic medical record systems, specifically Epic.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule

This position requires a commitment to a full-time schedule of 5 days a week, with daytime shifts from 08:00 to 16:30. Availability for work from Monday to Friday is essential.
