Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our medical-surgical unit. This position involves caring for a diverse patient population, including adults and geriatrics, predominantly focusing on post-surgical recovery.

Patient Population

• Adults to Geriatrics

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers will not be accepted.
• Current BLS certification required.

Unit Information

This is a 42-bed unit caring for predominantly post-surgical patients, including:

• Orthopedic patients
• Urology patients
• Colorectal patients
• Bariatric patients
• Neurology patients
• General surgery patients

Shift Details

• Night Shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00)
• Every other weekend commitment required.

Work Environment

The unit utilizes the following systems:

• Epic (mandatory)
• Pyxis
• SBAR

Additional Information

• RTO: Maximum of 7 days, with specific blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th – 12th).
• Float within the facility/scope of practice may be required as needed.
• Holiday requirements: Expected to work one major holiday if it falls within your assignment period, and additional holidays may be required depending on the assignment duration.

Compliance Requirements

Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to ensure a timely start. Delays in compliance may result in a two-week pushback due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Notes

Local candidates are welcome to apply and will receive the same rate as travelers. The number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours will vary based on the contract length.
