Bone Density Technologist

Job Overview

The Bone Density Technologist is responsible for performing bone densitometry exams and ensuring accurate and efficient patient care. This role requires specialized knowledge in radiology technology and patient management, providing a vital service in assessing and monitoring bone health.

Role Responsibilities

• Perform bone density scans and other related imaging procedures.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.
• Prepare patients by explaining procedures and answering questions.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient examinations and test results.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of new staff and students.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain equipment according to standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active certification in Bone Densitometry (ISCD and/or ARRT) is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification preferred.
• Proven experience in a clinical setting is an asset.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
