Job Overview
As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a vital role in the laboratory by examining and evaluating cellular samples to detect abnormalities and diseases. Your expertise will contribute to accurate diagnoses and improved patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze cytological specimens, including Pap smears and fine needle aspirations.
- Conduct microscopic examinations to identify cellular changes and abnormalities.
- Prepare and stain slides to facilitate accurate evaluations.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive diagnostic information.
- Maintain quality assurance protocols and participate in proficiency testing.
- Document findings and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Cytotechnologist (ASCP-CT) is required.
- Prior experience in cytology is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Schedule
This position is a Day shift, working 5 days a week for 8 hours each day.
Working Conditions
Work will primarily be conducted in a laboratory setting. Adherence to safety and health regulations is essential.
