Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing. The ideal candidate will provide top-quality patient care, assist in various medical procedures, and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to support patient recovery and well-being.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with diverse medical conditions.
  • Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, manage telemetry systems, and utilize remote monitoring technologies.
  • Administer treatments and medications, including blood product administration, heparin, insulin, and PCA.
  • Perform phlebotomy, central line blood draws, and peripheral line management.
  • Manage colostomy and ileostomy care, feeding tube management, and bowel obstruction cases.
  • Assist in the pre and post-management of hemodialysis and thoracic surgeries.
  • Implement non-invasive airway management techniques, including BiPAP and CPAP support.
  • Provide wound care and utilize wound vac systems as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and use of PPE.
  • Collaborate with rapid response and code teams during critical situations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.
  • Charge experience is preferred; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus.
  • Experience with telemetry on-unit monitoring and managing post-operative patients is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with electronic documentation systems is preferred.

Work Details

  • Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:6.
  • Night shifts available from 18:45 to 07:15.
  • Contract duration: 13-20 weeks, with options for either 36 or 48 hours per week.
  • Requests for time off (RTO) should not exceed 7 days.
  • Weekend shifts required every other weekend.
  • Travel between multiple locations may be necessary.
  • All staff must be prepared to work during catastrophic events or disasters.

Uniform

Scrubs must be navy blue or white.

Orientation and Training

Orientation will be provided for 24 hours prior to beginning work duties.
