Sterile Processing Technician (SPT II)

The Sterile Processing Technician II is responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization and assembly of surgical instruments and trays, providing critical support to surgical services. This position requires proficient skills in cardiac, orthopedic, and neurological tray assembly.

Shift Information

• Shift: Evenings (15:00 – 23:30)
• Schedule: 5 days a week (5×8 hours)
• Weekends: Required every Sunday as part of block scheduling
• Holidays: Required as scheduled
• Floating: Required within the specialty, including rotating through decontamination

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in sterile processing
• First-time travelers accepted with demonstrated proficiency in relevant skills
• Certification: Either CBSPD or IAHCSMM/SPA required
• BLS certification preferred

• Steris V-Pro

Job Responsibilities

• Utilize specialized equipment to sterilize instruments and trays.
• Assemble and maintain surgical instrument trays for various procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations regarding sterile processing.
• Participate in training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.
• Assist in the maintenance and organization of the sterile processing area.
