Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department

Shift Details

This position operates on a night shift schedule of 4×12 hours, from 19:00 to 07:30. Travellers are required to work three weekends (Friday to Sunday) in a four-week schedule and must be prepared to accommodate high patient ratios.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Manage and interpret dysrhythmias effectively.
• Utilize EPIC charting for accurate patient documentation.
• Participate in the assessment and management of critically ill patients.
• Assist with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration as required.
• Conduct triage assessments to prioritize patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Float to Pediatric Emergency Department as necessary.

Qualifications

• Active state nursing license.
• ACLS, BCLS (American Heart Association), PALS, TNCC, and NIH certifications are required.
• ENPC certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level 1 trauma environment is required.
• Previous experience handling patient ratios of 1:5-6, with potential increases during peak periods.

Additional Information

Candidates must acknowledge the high patient ratios that may reach up to 8 patients per nurse during busy periods, including holidays. The unit is currently welcoming travelers with the required Level 1 trauma experience.
