Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse with Operating Room experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience and must be comfortable working with adult to geriatric patient populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform both circulating and scrubbing duties in the Main Operating Room setting.
• Assist with surgical procedures across various specialties including General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal.
• Utilize unit systems such as Epic for electronic health records and Pyxis for medication management.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal care.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room experience is required; first-time travelers are accepted.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Experience in circulating and scrubbing is mandatory.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Day shift, 4×10 hours (06:30 – 17:00).
• Weekend Requirements: 2–3 weekends per 8-week schedule, which may include in-house or on-call duties.
• Call Requirements: Approximately 7-8 calls in an 8-week schedule, including 1 weekend call and 1-2 additional shifts.

Holiday Requirements

If assigned during a major holiday period, the traveler is expected to work:

• One major holiday: Required to work.
• Two major holidays: Required to work both.
• Three major holidays: Required to work two of the holidays.

Major Holidays include:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day

Compliance

Full compliance with all onboarding requirements is necessary to ensure on-time start. Non-compliance may result in a delay of up to two weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedules.

Additional Notes

• Orientation hours may vary based on contract length.
• Local candidates are welcome and will receive the same rate as travelers.
• Floating to other areas may occur rarely within the facility’s scope of practice.
