Pediatric Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Critical Care Registered Nurse to join our float pool. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients across various units within multiple locations in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU).
• Float among different pediatric units as needed, ensuring continuity of care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Manage a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2 or 1:3 based on unit needs.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Scheduling Details

• Work schedule consists of 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Availability to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotation is required.
• Accommodations for block schedules may be available upon management approval.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience is required.
• First-time applicants will be considered if they meet the experience requirement.
• Current South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State Registered Nurse License is required.
• Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), with preference for AHA certification.
• Experience with Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) is preferred.

Additional Information

All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application, with approvals based on unit needs. The facility reserves the right to call off one shift per two weeks as necessary.

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, which runs from June through November, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. Consider this when confirming assignments during this period.
