Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Oncology Registered Nurse will provide specialized nursing care to patients with various types of malignancies, including solid tumors, hematological disorders, and those undergoing cellular therapies. This role requires expertise in administering treatment and supporting patients through their oncology journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert nursing care to patients diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and other solid tumor conditions.
• Administer cellular products and manage complex treatment regimens in alignment with clinical trials.
• Utilize advanced equipment including telemonitoring systems, PCA pumps, blood warmers, bladder scanners, and Baxter pumps for patient care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal outcomes.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient progress and responses to treatment effectively.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, potential side effects, and supportive care resources.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Previous experience in an oncology setting, with specific focus on caring for patients with hematological malignancies and solid tumors.
• Experience in administering cellular therapies and managing patients participating in clinical trials is highly desirable.
• Proficient in the use of telemetry and various patient care technology, including PCA pumps, blood warmers, bladder scans, and Baxter pumps.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams.

Unit Information

The RN will work within a 3-pod unit consisting of 10 beds per pod, with a 1:3 to 1:4 patient-to-nurse staffing ratio.
