Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to provide clinical social work services to patients and their families, primarily focusing on a high volume of prostate cancer patients. The ideal candidate will possess experience in mental health and/or healthcare settings, with a preference for candidates familiar with oncology and serious illness.
Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical psychosocial assessments and interventions, including crisis response and individual, couples, and family therapy.
- Provide short-term bereavement support and counseling to families of patients dealing with serious illness.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to reduce cancer-related distress and enhance the quality of life for patients.
- Address patient vulnerabilities and safety risks, employing appropriate intervention strategies.
- Utilize and understand the principles of short-term therapy and advance directives in hospice care.
- Perform biopsychosocial assessments, family therapy, and individual counseling, as well as parental counseling.
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge and sensitivity to cultural issues affecting patient care.
- Adhere to the NASW Code of Ethics and Standards of Home Health Care.
Qualifications
- LICSW credential is required.
- Mental health and/or healthcare experience is essential.
- Experience with oncology or serious illness is preferred.
- Knowledge of child protective services and adult protective services is advantageous.
- Ability to engage in high-risk interventions related to patient vulnerability or safety risks.
- Familiarity with issues of cancer, suicide, homicide, and self-harm is preferred.
Schedule
This position requires a hybrid work schedule of 3 days on-site and 2 days remote, with a standard day shift of five 8-hour days from 08:30 to 17:00.
