Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to provide essential care and support within various medical-surgical telemetry units. The successful candidate will be expected to float between multiple units to ensure optimal patient care and staffing coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac monitoring and administer cardiac drips.
• Accurately read and interpret telemetry strips every four hours.
• Provide nursing care for patients in various medical-surgical telemetry areas, including emergency department border patients and those in acute mental health.
• Support non-vented patients who are transfer-ready in the intensive care unit.
• Collaborate effectively with nursing staff across multiple units.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of acute care hospital experience in nursing.
• 2 years of nursing experience as a Travel RN is preferred.
• Active RN License in Massachusetts.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.

Additional Information

Clinician to patient ratios are typically up to 5:1 during days and evenings and up to 6:1 at night. The facility features an overall bed count of 371, with unit beds ranging from 8 to 41. The position will require rotation between day, evening, and night shifts, including weekends.

Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) system is beneficial.
