Medical Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to join our outpatient team. The ideal candidate will support our general surgery department by providing exceptional patient care and assistance to healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field for various surgical procedures.
• Collect and record patient information accurately.
• Administer medications and perform basic laboratory tests as needed.
• Ensure compliance with established protocols and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant training program within the last 12 months.
• Current nursing student or Paramedic preferred.
• National Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• CPR training required.
• Experience working as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Additional knowledge of sterile field procedures preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records preferred.

Work Schedule

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The start date will be determined based on the clearance of credentials. Please note that a rescheduled start date may be necessary if clearance is not obtained by the posted start date.
