Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/Tele

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care with experience in various critical situations.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV insulin protocols and blood product administration.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, interpreting dysrhythmias and ABGs as necessary.
• Provide care for patients with colostomies and feeding tubes.
• Manage pre/post hemodialysis processes and central/peripheral line care.
• Perform phlebotomy and PICC line management tasks.
• Utilize non-invasive airway management techniques and portable oxygen delivery systems.
• Implement wound care and Wound Vac management as needed.
• Engage in documentation and communication using Epic and SBAR.
• Participate in trauma response and disaster management as part of a Storm or Hurricane Team.

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience: 2 years in a Medical-Surgical or Telemetry setting.
• Certifications: Current BCLS certification is required.
• Skills: Proficient in telemetry monitoring, IV management, wound care, and high flow oxygen therapy.
• Preferred Experience: Knowledge of tracheostomy management and EPIC documentation system.

Shift and Scheduling

Shifts available include 12-hour days and nights, with contract lengths ranging from 13 to 26 weeks. Weekend shifts and floating between units may be required, with an expected workload of 12-16 weekends per contract.

Orientation and Training

All contract staff will undergo a comprehensive orientation, which includes 24 hours of unit-specific training followed by a week of hospital orientation.

Patient Care Focus

Responsibilities involve caring for patients with various diagnoses, including dementia, diabetes, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, and hip fractures.

Uniform Requirements

Scrubs should be navy and white.
