Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Anesthesia Care
Exciting opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team, including floating to other units as needed.
Position Information
- Department: Nursing Perioperative Pre-Post
- Specialty: PACU – Pre-Operative and Post Operative
- Shift: 12-hour shifts (Day or Evening)
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36-48 hours preferable
- Weekend Requirements: Scheduled every other Saturday
- Call Requirements: Rotating
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 40 pre- and post-operative beds, 9 overnight bays
- Patient Ratios: 2:1 for Phase 1 Care (up to 3-4 in the 23-hour stay)
- Equipment: IV pumps, Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA), Epidurals, Arterial lines, Telemetry Monitoring, TEE/Cardioversion
- EMR: Epic
Qualifications
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent PACU experience
- Floating Requirements: Must be willing to float between units as needed (Bramhall PACU, IMC, ICU)
- Skills: Ability to read telemetry strips, experience with pre- and post-operative procedures, and ICU experience is required
- Preferred Experience: Handling patients undergoing Cardiac Procedures such as Catheterizations, Electrophysiology Studies, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), and pediatric catheterizations
- Personality Traits: Team player with excellent communication skills, flexible, and a positive attitude

- Unacceptable Attire: Artificial nails, cell phone usage in the clinical area
