ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

The ICU Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients within a 20-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit. This position involves managing a diverse patient population with various diagnoses including respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, sepsis, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in adult ICU nursing and will be adept at assessing and responding to complex patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced ICU environment.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings; possess strong tele strip reading skills.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including attendings and residents, who are present in the unit 24/7.
• Float to medical/surgical units as required, managing patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 based on acuity; maintain care for up to 4-5 patients when floating.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of continuous experience in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) required.
• Active RN license in Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR), specifically the EPIC system.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and float as necessary.
