Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to work in a fast-paced adult admission inpatient unit. This unit functions as an admissions area next to the Emergency Department, handling a high volume of patient admissions and discharges. The RN will be responsible for providing patient care while managing frequently changing patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and monitor patients in a telemetry environment.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage various medical equipment.
• Handle patient admissions and discharges efficiently, ensuring timely transitions.
• Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4-5.
• Float to adjacent units as required, including sub-acute care and inpatient progressive care areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a telemetry or similar environment.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH.
• COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory; exemptions available with appropriate documentation.
• Must not reside within 100 miles of the facility.
• First-time travelers are encouraged to apply.

Work Schedule

This position involves working 4 consecutive 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30.

Important Notes

• No local candidates within a 100-mile radius are eligible for this position.
• RTO (Request Time Off) restrictions apply; requests exceeding 7 days require prior approval.
• Guaranteed hours are based on the contractual arrangement, with the facility allowed to call off staff 3 times throughout a 13-week assignment.
• Relief charge responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Additional Information

The patient population served is diverse, inclusive of all specialties except for ICU-level care. Registered Nurses must excel in time management and clinical skills to efficiently manage the dynamic nature of this unit.
