Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN)

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN) for a 26-week assignment starting on November 9. The role involves working in a short-term acute inpatient setting where the primary focus is on providing care to patients who may require medication adjustments to enhance their quality of life.

Clinical Environment

The ideal candidate will work in an environment where the goal is to minimize the necessity for medications while achieving the best possible patient outcomes. Patients typically referred to this setting may come from long-term care facilities or families needing support for patients experiencing decline.

Shift Details

• Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM

Qualifications

• Current RN license.
• Experience in psychiatric nursing or related fields is preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically Oracle, is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric nursing care to patients during their stay in the acute inpatient setting.
• Monitor patient conditions and make necessary medication adjustments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Engage with patients and their families to offer support and education regarding treatment and care options.
