Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team. This role involves rotating shifts, primarily during the day, with some evening and nighttime responsibilities, including weekend shifts.

Unit Overview

The Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Unit features a 25-bed capacity, incorporating Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Care. The unit is equipped with 2 operating rooms, 2 recovery rooms, and 2 ANU rooms.

Position Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Care.
• Clinician to Patient Ratio:
  • L&D: 1:2-3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor and special situations.
  • Postpartum: 1:3-4.
• Daily Census: Average of 15-25 mothers, babies, and active labors.
• Charting System: EPIC EMR.
• Floating: Not required.

Shift Details

This position involves rotating between daytime, evening, and night shifts as needed. Straight day shifts are not available.

Certification and Licensure

• Current Massachusetts RN License.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (renewed every 2 years).
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
