Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Registered Nurse to join our team. This position involves both day and rotating shifts, including weekends. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.

Job Details

• Shift: Rotate between 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with every other weekend.
• Unit: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Unit with 25 beds, encompassing labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years in a related role.
• Clinician to Patient Ratio: Labor & Delivery 1:2-3 for evaluations, and 1:1 for active labor, magnesium infusion, or epidural. Postpartum 1:3-4.
• Bed Count: 5 Labor & Delivery rooms, 12 Postpartum rooms, with 2 operating rooms, 2 recovery rooms, and 2 antepartum rooms.
• Average Daily Census: 15-25 mothers, babies, and labor cases.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications:
  • Current RN license in Massachusetts
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (renewed every 2 years).
• Preferred Certifications:
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Additional Information

This position does not require floating to other units. Candidates should be prepared for rotating shifts primarily during the day, with rotations to evenings and nights as needed. The care environment is supported by the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.
