Surgical Technologist – OR

The Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in the operating room, providing essential support to surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures. This position requires expertise in preparing patients, operating rooms, and surgical equipment to ensure a smooth procedure.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgery by verifying their identity, surgical site, and procedure.
• Set up and organize the operating room, ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and performing other tasks as directed.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in the operating room throughout the surgical procedure.
• Monitor sterile techniques to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
• Participate in the turnover of the operating room between cases by cleaning, sterilizing, and preparing for upcoming surgeries.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Experience in Orthopedic, OB-GYN, and General surgeries is preferred.
• Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.

This position requires floating between multiple locations and may involve weekend and on-call responsibilities, necessitating a response time of 30 minutes.
