Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a position in a hospitalist unit focused on general medicine. The role involves caring for patients in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting, where you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care and support to patients with complex medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a PCU environment.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and lab results.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Participate in patient and family education regarding health conditions and treatment plans.
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers as necessary.
• Float to other PCU units or Med-Surg as needed.

Schedule

This position requires working three 12-hour night shifts per week, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. There is a weekend commitment, which may involve alternating weekends or six weekend shifts within a six-week schedule.

Patient Ratios

The current nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5, with a goal of achieving a 1:4 ratio to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• EPIC experience is required.
• Previous experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or similar environment is preferred.
• Ability to float between different units as necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and efficient patient care.
