Medical Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist with a focus on microbiology. The successful candidate will work day shifts in a dynamic laboratory environment, contributing to the quality of patient care through accurate laboratory results and effective teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological analyses and interpret results from various specimens.
• Read and analyze cultures, ensuring timely reporting of results.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Participate in quality control and assurance processes.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide accurate lab data for patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Support laboratory operations through adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in the field.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in a microbiology setting within a large hospital (300+ beds) required.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in reading cultures is required.
• ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Technologist (M), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or clinical microbiology is required.
• Ability to work rotating weekends approximately once every four weeks.

Work Schedule

This position requires day shifts, consisting of 8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
