Med Surg/IMC/Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Med Surg/IMC/Tele Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers the opportunity to care for a wide array of patients, primarily in a high-acuity environment.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Stepdown
• Number of Beds: 28
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: Average of 1:5 during Days and PM; 1:5 to 1:7 during Night shifts
• Patient Demographics: Up to 75% cardiac patients, with additional diagnoses including CHF, COPD, pneumonia, diabetes, and more.

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Shift Times: 1900 to 0730
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a stepdown unit.
• Monitor and manage telemetry patients, including the titration of drips.
• Collaboration with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Engage in effective communication with patients and their families.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Telemetry, IMC, or Stepdown nursing experience required.
• Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and work ethic.
• Preferred Experience: Previous travel nursing experience is a plus.

Additional Information

• Tele techs provide 24/7 monitoring, while nurses are responsible for reading strips and ensuring accurate rhythm capture.
• Nurses may float to other Med/Surg floors as necessary.
• Orientation includes one day off-unit and one shift on-unit for training.
• Dress Code: Clean and professional attire; scrubs of any color are permitted.
