Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for night shifts. The role involves providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment while closely monitoring patient vitals and administering medications as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients in a medical-surgical telemetry unit.
• Utilize proper assessment techniques and nursing judgment while caring for patients.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic health record.
• Perform ECG rhythm recognition and ensure competency in medication administration.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months of permanent Med/Surg Tele experience is required.
• Current and valid Registered Nurse license from Ohio or a compact state is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross are mandatory.
• Recent Epic charting experience (within the last 6 months) is required.
• One recent reference from a manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty is required for submission. Charge RN references are accepted.

Work Schedule

The position requires working three 12-hour night shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a commitment to being available every other holiday.

Additional Information

All travelers will complete assessments during orientation, including ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate, both of which require an acceptable score. Local candidates are also welcome to apply and will receive the same consideration as travel candidates.
