Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in respiratory therapy and be able to provide exceptional patient care within a pediatric environment.

Position Requirements

• Average daily census of 6-10 ventilated patients.
• Must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles:
  • Thanksgiving & the day after
  • Christmas Eve & Christmas Day
  • New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day
• Floating to general pediatrics as needed is required.
• No RQI certifications required.
• No local candidates within a 100-mile radius accepted.
• COVID-19 vaccination is required, with exemptions accepted upon proper documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy.
• Pediatric experience preferred; candidates with trauma level I experience are highly desired.
• Licensure: New Mexico Respiratory Therapy License.
• Certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS required.
• First-time travelers are accepted.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Night shifts – 3×12 hours (18:00 – 06:30)
• Weekend requirements: No more than 3 weekends in a 4-week schedule period.

Additional Information

• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours/week; the facility may call off staff up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment.
• Open to accommodating a block schedule: No.
• Pending licenses are accepted.
• RTO (Requested Time Off) restrictions: Greater than 7 days requires approval.

Overtime Policy

Overtime is compensated after 48 hours for all contracts signed on or after October 30, 2025.
