Registered Nurse, Emergency Department

Job Description

The Emergency Nurse provides care to patients experiencing urgent or critical illnesses, those requiring emergency care, and patients seeking treatment for non-urgent concerns. This role involves triaging patients according to their care needs, conducting ongoing assessments, delivering immediate interventions, and providing discharge education. The Emergency Nurse interacts with diverse populations including pre-natal, neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, ensuring effective communication tailored to each individual’s intellectual and physical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform triage assessments to determine patient care requirements.
• Administer emergency care to critically ill or injured patients.
• Conduct ongoing evaluations of patient conditions and response to treatments.
• Provide discharge teaching and assist with follow-up care plans.
• Collaborate with inter-disciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN License required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Management of Actual or Potential Aggression (MOAB) certification required.

Work Schedule

This position requires working every other weekend.
