Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate care in a short-term acute inpatient setting. This role focuses on assisting patients in managing their mental health conditions, optimizing medication use to enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatment.
• Work with healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans for each patient.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic interventions to patients and their families.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate patient needs and progress.
• Document patient care and maintain accurate records using the Oracle electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Facilitate appropriate referrals for patients transitioning from long-term care or other services.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in psychiatric nursing or mental health care preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Flexibility to work night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.

This position is within a supportive inpatient environment designed to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes through medication management and holistic care approaches. The team works closely with referrals from long-term care facilities and family members to address patients’ declining mental health needs.
