Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)

Job Overview

Seeking a qualified Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract position with a 36-hour guarantee. This role requires working night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Qualifications

• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Experience with MEDITECH software is mandatory.
• Travel nursing experience is required.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Critical care and charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and intervene in life-threatening situations.
• Provide quality patient care and assess patient needs, including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual aspects.
• Recognize safety issues for self and others, and utilize patient lifting techniques safely.
• Function effectively in stressful situations while demonstrating good problem-solving skills.
• Exhibit strong leadership abilities with effective prioritization and delegation skills.
• May be required to take on duties as a charge nurse.

Skills

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal) are required.
• Ability to complete a lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and be defibrillation certified within six months of employment.
• Must be IV, medication, and phlebotomy certified during orientation.
