Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

We are currently seeking a skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a 13-week contract. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in surgical care and emergency department settings, with a strong emphasis on supervision and charge nursing duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult patients with a focus on surgical and emergency cases.
• Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 7:1, with the possibility of increasing to 8:1 in rare situations.
• Assess and monitor patients with common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, DKA, and post-operative recovery.
• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically Sorian, for patient documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in medical-surgical units and emergency departments.
• Previous experience in a charge or supervisory role is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are preferred.
• Experience with travel nursing is required.
