Medical Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in an adult outpatient setting, specializing in Endocrine and Internal Medicine. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum Experience: 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Traveler Experience: First-time travelers are welcome
- Work Settings Skills: Experience in an Adult Outpatient Clinic
- Vital Sign Skills: Proficient in height/weight measurement, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, and pulse oximetry
- Preparation for Exam: Ability to record patient history, medications, and allergies
- Specimen Collection Skills: Experience with labeling specimens, urine collection (UA/Clean Catch)
- Laboratory Tests Skills: Proficient in blood glucose testing via glucometer and urine dipstick/urinalysis
- Office Duties Skills: Experience with pharmacy calls, patient refill requests, and stocking supplies
- Professional Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of aseptic technique, follow-up phone calls, and rooming patients
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Work Settings Skills: Experience in a private physician’s office
- Injections: Experience with immunizations
- Specimen Collection Skills: Proficient in venipuncture
- Professional Knowledge and Skills: Experience in wound care

Job Details
- Average Daily Visits: Approximately 40 patients per day
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts from 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Call Requirement: None
- Weekend Requirement: None
Patient Population
The primary patient diagnoses include diabetes, thyroid diseases, and adrenal diseases.
Special Procedures/Equipment
Familiarity with point-of-care testing is required. Candidates must provide their own stethoscope.
Unit Orientation
An 8-hour orientation shift will be provided to familiarize candidates with the clinic environment.
Scrubs
Navy blue scrubs are required and will not be provided.
