Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment, where you will provide exceptional nursing care throughout the continuum of preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative procedures in the Interventional Radiology unit.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of Interventional Radiology procedures, ensuring comprehensive care for patients.
• Perform IV starts, administer nurse sedation, and monitor patients throughout their procedures.
• Assist with a variety of interventional cases, including but not limited to embolization, Y90 therapy, neuro procedures, carotid stenting, and biopsies.
• Collaborate with physicians and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver quality patient care.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding procedures and recovery processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in Interventional Radiology or a similar specialty.
• Demonstrated experience in neuro procedures, particularly strokes and carotid interventions.
• Proficient in IV insertion and nurse sedation techniques.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required.
• Openness to first-time travelers is encouraged.

Unit Information

• Two Interventional Radiology suites, including a dedicated neuro suite that shares a hybrid room with a catheterization lab.
• Average of 8 cases performed daily, primarily involving adult patients (ages 18+) with occasional adolescent patients.

Scheduling and Shift Information

• This role typically involves 4 ten-hour shifts each week, with potential weekend shifts and optional on-call responsibilities.
• Weekend availability includes shifts from Friday evening to Monday morning, though not mandatory.
• Call response time is expected within 30 minutes.
