Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients with various cardiac conditions. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in cardiac telemetry, PCU, IMC, or stepdown experience, and be comfortable working in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac patients and manage cardiac drips including Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, and Diltiazem.
• Perform sheath pulls, and manage TR bands and Femstop procedures.
• Provide care for patients with diagnoses such as Congestive Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, and those undergoing Pre/Post cardiac catheterization.
• Utilize medication, documentation, and communication systems including Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR.
• Expect to float to other units as needed based on patient care demands.
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team initiatives, and be prepared to report for duty during catastrophic events and mass casualties.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 3×12 hours from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Weekend shifts required—approximately 5 to 6 over a 6-week scheduling period.
• Contracts available for 13 to 26 weeks, with flexibility for longer commitments.

Qualifications

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a cardiac telemetry, PCU, IMC, or stepdown unit is required.
• First-time travelers are encouraged to apply.

Orientation and Scrubs

• Unit orientation will consist of 24 hours.
• Scrubs: Navy color.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must pass EKG testing before the start of their assignment. An interview with the Nurse Manager is mandatory prior to finalizing the offer.
