MS/Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced MS/Tele Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical-surgical nursing and telemetry, with the ability to float between units as needed. This position requires flexibility and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Details:

• Shift: 12 hours, Night (18:45 – 07:15)
• Contracts Available: 36 or 48 hours accepted; longer contracts available through 2/27/2027
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
• Holiday Requirement: Must be able to work holidays
• RTO: A maximum of 7 days of RTO allowed per contract
• Floating: Required to float to other MS units and potentially to the main campus, approximately 32 minutes away
• Patient Ratios: 1:6

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care for various diagnoses including diabetes, dementia, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, and more.
• Engage in telemetry monitoring and management of dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and perform necessary medical procedures including blood product administration and IV management.
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams effectively as needed.
• Assist with pre and post-hemodialysis care and manage feeding tubes and colostomies.
• Implement wound care and follow isolation precautions.
• Participate in Storm Team or Hurricane Team initiatives as required during catastrophic events.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience required; charge experience preferred.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.

Additional Information:

Unit orientation will consist of 24 hours. Contract staff will be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and may need to report to work during emergencies.
