Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves providing exceptional nursing care in a fast-paced environment while ensuring the health and safety of all patients.

Unit Description

The Emergency Department is a 65-bed facility structured in a pod-based format, featuring separate areas for pediatric care and acute mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Administer medications and perform IV therapy and phlebotomy tasks.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret EKG results.
• Conduct point-of-care testing as needed.
• Provide splinting and other critical care interventions.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to make informed decisions regarding patient care.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Emergency Nursing.
• General Emergency Department nursing skills and competencies.
• Certifications required: AHA Certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred.

Patient Population and Environment

The Emergency Department caters to a diverse patient population, managing approximately 230 visits per day with a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:4.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to float to the ED Observation Wing and Acute Mental Health Unit as needed.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including days and nights when required.

The Emergency Department offers free on-site parking for all staff. Candidates should be prepared to work nights and weekends.
