Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. This position involves providing respiratory care to patients in an acute care setting, with a focus on quality and patient-centered services.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor and assess patient responses to therapy and report changes as necessary.
• Assist in the management of ventilators and other respiratory equipment.
• Perform arterial blood gas draws and interpret results.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a respiratory care role, with at least 1 to 2 years in a traveler capacity.
• Experience with ventilator management in an acute care setting.
• Active RRT certification.
• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment of 36 hours per week, primarily during night shifts, with weekend rotations as needed. Flexibility to adjust to day shifts may be required.

Technology Utilized

Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems (EPIC) and equipment such as the PB980 Ventilator and Hamilton T1 Transport Ventilator.

Staffing Information

The clinician-to-patient ratio includes 5 respiratory therapists during day shifts, 5 on evening shifts, and 4 on night shifts, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
