ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work in a high-acuity environment, caring for a diverse population of adult patients.

Unit Information:

• 20-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
• Provides care for patients with a variety of diagnoses including Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI Bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock
• Attending physicians and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care to critically ill patients in accordance with established protocols
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips to assess cardiac functions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient care
• Float to Medical/Surgical units as necessary, typically caring for 4 to 5 patients
• Participate in patient assessments and documentation using the EPIC electronic medical record system

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience required
• Must have the ability to read telemetry strips
• Active nursing license in Massachusetts
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are required

Work Schedule:

• 36 hours per week, nights and every other weekend (EOW)
• Rotating shifts may occur, including day and night shifts
