Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Description

Join a dynamic 65-bed Emergency Department, featuring a pod-based layout that includes a dedicated pediatric pod and a separate Acute Mental Health area.

Position Details

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to work either 36 or 48 hours per week on night shifts, including every other weekend. This role includes:

• Clinician-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Daily Census: Approximately 230 visits
• Required Floating to the ED Observation wing (16 beds) and AMU (ED Psych OBs)
• Rotating shifts may be required upon request, but the night position does not rotate

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting patient assessments and documentation
• Administering IVs, performing phlebotomy, and EKG monitoring
• Engaging in critical thinking and patient education
• Conducting point of care testing and splinting as needed

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

• A minimum of 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience
• General ED nursing skills

Certifications

Preferred certifications include:

• AHA Certified BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred

Charting System

This position utilizes the EPIC – ASAP electronic medical record (EMR) system for charting and documentation.
