Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our dynamic team. This position is within a level-one, academic trauma center, providing cutting-edge surgical care across a variety of specialties.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, each 12 hours long from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Days: Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday
• On-Call: Not required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in the operating room setting.
• Scrub and circulate during surgical procedures across various specialties, including trauma, transplant, orthopedics, neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and robotics.
• Collaborate effectively with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float between like units and assist as needed to meet facility demands.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of operating room nursing experience preferred, but first-timers may be considered.
• Licensure: Current RN license in South Carolina or a multi-state/compact RN license is required.
• Certifications: BLS certification is required. A Radiation Badge will be provided by the agency.
• Trauma Experience: Experience in a Level 1 trauma setting is preferred.
• Skills: Proficient in both scrub and circulate functions in the operating room.

Miscellaneous Information

• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
• All requests for time off must be communicated at the time of submission, subject to facility needs.
• Guaranteed hours: The facility may call off one shift per two weeks, with called-off hours potentially totaling one shift.

Parking Information

Parking permits are managed through the designated office. A registration fee is required for parking permits, which will allow access to the garage. Additional fees may apply for parking outside of the designated area.

Additional Notes

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. This may affect scheduling and assignments during this time, which runs from June through November.
