Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a float pool position supporting multiple medical surgical units. This role involves working in a dynamic environment with rotating shifts, including both 12-hour and 8-hour schedules, and requires commitment to alternating weekends and holidays.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a float pool across various medical surgical units.
• Administer nebulizers and monitor patient responses under the guidance of respiratory therapists (RT).
• Perform unit-specific procedures such as 12-lead EKGs, Lasix infusions, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring.
• Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio averaging 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights.
• Be adaptable to unit assignments, which may be communicated shortly before shifts.
• Provide care in specialties including neurology, cardiology, bariatrics, general medicine, and oncology.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active MA Registered Nurse (RN) license at the time of submission.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience required.
• Experience in a teaching hospital environment and specialty area expertise preferred.
• Level I trauma experience is required.
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications (AHA) are necessary.
• Familiarity with electronic health records, specifically Epic, is required.

Work Schedule

Shifts will be a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour rotations, including day, evening, and night shifts, with an emphasis on rotating every other weekend. Orientation is conducted weekly on Mondays, excluding holidays.

Additional Information

• Travel RNs will be placed in the float pool, ensuring exposure to various medical surgical units.
• All requests for time off (RTO) must be presented at the time of submission. A maximum of 3 days of RTO is permitted.
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable for this position.
