Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our medical surgical float pool. This position involves providing quality care in a dynamic inpatient environment across multiple medical surgical units.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in various medical surgical units, specializing in areas such as neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, genitourinary, hips and joints, oncology, transplant liver and kidneys, and vascular.
• Manage ventilators, with respiratory therapists overseeing ventilator responsibilities. Administer nebulizers as needed.
• Perform unit specific procedures including 12 lead EKGs, Lasix infusions, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring.
• Support a varying patient ratio, with an average of 4:1 on day shifts and 6:1 on night shifts.
• Adapt to assignments that may change weekly and are typically provided shortly before shifts.
• Participate in a flexible scheduling arrangement, which includes working every other weekend and during holidays.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN license required at the time of submission.
• A minimum of 3 years of related work experience is required. Prior travel nursing experience is highly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems, with the ability to navigate web-based applications. Experience with Epic software is required.
• CPR and ACLS certifications from AHA are necessary.
• Prior experience in a teaching hospital and expertise in specialty areas are desirable.

Orientation and Shifts

Orientation is conducted weekly on Mondays, excluding holidays. Shifts consist of a combination of 8 and 12 hours, rotating between days, evenings, and nights with a structured schedule that includes one week of 12-hour shifts and alternating 8-hour shifts.
