Registered Nurse (RN) – Cath Lab

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Catheterization Laboratory is responsible for providing direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations. This role encompasses a wide range of duties related to patient monitoring and care in a surgical environment, requiring effective communication with the medical team and a commitment to quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care, addressing psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
• Continuously communicate with physicians regarding patient conditions.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and managing inventory.
• Ensure the readiness of procedure rooms and equipment, assessing their functionality.
• Obtain necessary supplies for individual cases, ensuring all needs of the Cardiovascular Laboratory team are met.
• Monitor physiological and hemodynamic data during diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the laboratory.
• Continuously record and monitor patients’ conditions while in the laboratory.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications upon hire and maintained current, required.
• One (1) year of clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab performing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area required.
