ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

An opportunity exists for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in a dynamic medical/surgical intensive care unit. This position involves the management of critically ill patients and requires strong clinical skills, particularly in telemetry reading and critical care protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 20-bed medical/surgical ICU.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips to assess patient conditions.
• Manage a diverse patient population including those with severe psychiatric conditions, respiratory failure, sepsis, and more.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including attendings and residents, available 24/7.
• Float to medical/surgical units as needed, managing up to 4 or 5 patients.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) for accurate charting and patient care documentation.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license.
• 2+ years of continuous experience in a medical/surgical ICU setting.
• Telemetry competency is required.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility with rotating shifts, including day, evening, and night shifts, with every other weekend commitment. Job responsibilities may include floating to other medical/surgical areas as necessary.

The ICU provides care to patients with a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions, requiring a strong foundation in critical care nursing and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
