Labor & Delivery/Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This position primarily focuses on Labor & Delivery but requires the ability to float to the Med Surg floor when Labor & Delivery services are not in operation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout the labor process.
• Manage labor progression and assist with deliveries.
• Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies.
• Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families during significant life events.
• Administer medications and perform cervical exams within the scope of practice.
• Interpret fetal monitoring strips and prepare patients for operative deliveries.
• Provide postpartum education to ensure a positive birth experience.
• Promote optimal outcomes for both mother and newborn.
• Float to the Med Surg floor as needed when Labor & Delivery services are closed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Current Montana RN license required.
• Certifications: NRP, Stable, BLS.

Shift Information

This position requires the ability to work three 12-hour day shifts.

Holiday coverage is required.
