Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with orthopedic experience for a fast-paced unit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in patient care and a strong commitment to pain management for orthopedic and neuro spine patients.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with a focus on orthopedic care.
• Traveler experience: First-time travelers with EPIC experience are welcome.
• Skills: IV Start, Telemetry.
• Certifications: BCLS, NIH.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification.
• Experience as a Charge Nurse.
• Level I Trauma experience.

Job Details

• Patient Ratios: Expect a ratio of 5-6 patients per nurse, with a maximum of 7:1 in extreme cases.
• Contract Length: Available for 13 weeks or longer, through end date of 2/27.
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15).
• Work Hours: Options for 36 or 48 hours per week.
• RTO (Requested Time Off): Maximum of 7 days allowed for AYA auto offers. No holiday RTO will be approved.
• Float Requirement: Travelers may be required to float to any other medical-surgical unit based on staffing needs.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required. Should a nurse call out on a weekend, they are expected to make up the hours.

Patient Population

The unit serves an average daily census of 37 patients in a facility with 39 available beds, catering primarily to orthopedic, neuro spine, and post-surgical patients.

Special Information

All nurses must pass EKG testing prior to start. The unit is known for its high-paced environment requiring nurses who can effectively manage patient pain.
