Registered Nurse (RN) – Orthopedic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with orthopedic experience to join our dynamic team. This position will involve caring for patients in a fast-paced environment, focusing on pain management and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to orthopedic, neuro spine, and post-surgical patients.
• Manage pain effectively and ensure patient comfort.
• Adhere to patient care protocols while maintaining effective communication with the healthcare team.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
• Required to float to other medical-surgical units as necessary based on staffing needs.
• Work the scheduled shifts and weekends as required.

Qualifications

• Required Skills: Minimum of 2 years of orthopedic nursing experience; proficient in IV starts and telemetry.
• Certifications: BCLS and NIH certification required.
• Preferred Skills: ACLS certification, charge nurse experience, and experience in a Level I trauma setting.
• Experience: First-time travelers with Epic experience are welcome to apply.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.

Schedule

This position offers a 12-hour night shift with options for 36 or 48 hours per week. Block scheduling is available, with every other weekend required. Please note that requests for time off during the holiday season will not be approved.

Patient Population

The unit typically covers an average daily census of 37 patients, handling a diverse population that includes orthopedic, neuro spine, and post-surgical cases.
