Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Telemetry

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Telemetry team. This position requires a proactive individual with a solid foundation in cardiac care and telemetry nursing. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of nursing experience with a background in managing continuous IV medications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess patients on cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin.
  • Administer diuretics such as Bumex and Lasix, along with anticoagulants including Aggrastat, Argatroban, and Heparin.
  • Manage insulin drips for diabetic patients.
  • Provide care for adult to geriatric patients with various cardiac conditions.
  • Handle overflow patients from IMCU, including those with arrhythmias and post-surgical cases.
  • Perform cardioversion and assist with other cardiac-related procedures.
  • Participate in the management of patients with renal and pulmonary conditions.
  • Adhere to patient care standards while floating within the facility as needed.
  • Utilize Epic and Pyxis systems for documentation and medication management.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with a valid nursing license.
  • A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, specifically in a cardiac telemetry unit.
  • Competence in managing continuous IV medications.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Strong knowledge of basic arrhythmia management and Med Surg skills.

Work Schedule:

  • Day shift, typically 3 days per week, totaling 12 hours each shift (07:00 – 19:00).
  • Expected to work every other weekend, dependent on staffing needs.
  • Holiday work is required based on schedule.

Additional Information:

  • Patient-to-nurse ratio is approximately 1:5-6 in a 32-bed unit.
  • Full compliance with orientation and training requirements is essential for a timely start.
